The fulcrum of any wedding is the planner – someone who understands the requirements and challenges and delivers the best possible result. Tamna – Art of Events, a very well-known name in the elite circle in Bahrain, has put together events even for royalty. It’s led by the very creative and capable Gesche Willers, Founder, Tamna Events, whose hospitality industry experience spans Europe, the United States, and the Middle East.
Speaking about her 15 years of experience as one of the biggest wedding planners in Bahrain, Willers spoke to Life N Style about the successes and challenges she has faced.

Wedding planning is an arduous task which involves multiple stakeholders apart from the couple themselves. “Having a clear understanding of the couples’ preferences and expectations of their family is essential. And of course, having clear parameters around the budget. When there is clarity by all involved it makes for a seamless wedding experience”, says Gesche.
Handling last-minute changes and challenges is a true juggling act. But Gesche says she is always prepared. “It is important to have a clear timetable agreed with the client but the key is to be a decision-maker at the event who can make the call for any changes to the timetable if it’s required. I always try to get to know my clients well, just in case there is an unforeseen challenge and prefer to feel comfortable making the decision the way I think my client would have”.
Gesche says that Bahrain has emerged as the wedding destination of choice, “Our international airport is easy to navigate, our wedding specialists offer a premium service and we have several wonderful venues to choose from. Also, we can provide day trips and activities that can easily fill a three or four-day wedding experience”.
Gesche Willers’ first wedding was a royal one – talk about baptism by fire! “I had so much support from someone who really taught me the ropes – from the service series, the protocol related to the same – it was really a crash course. She taught me everything in one night and I respect and admire her for it”.
