His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, welcomed the champions of our national football team upon their arrival at Bahrain International Airport, after winning the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup title, which recently concluded in the sisterly State of Kuwait.
His Highness received the trophy from His Excellency Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Football Association, and all the players, technical staff, and administrative team had the honor of greeting His Highness.
On this occasion, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his pride and admiration for this achievement, which reflects the determination and persistence of the national team players. He emphasized that this title is a source of pride for all Bahrainis, and it reflects the unlimited support that Bahraini sports receive from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, may God preserve and protect him, the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, and the attention of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.
His Highness stated, “We congratulate the champions of our national team for this remarkable achievement, which is the result of the great efforts made by the players and both the technical and administrative staff throughout the tournament. They raised the flag of the nation high in this Gulf event, confirming the significant status of Bahraini football.”
His Highness added, “This achievement serves as a great motivation to continue working and giving more to achieve even greater accomplishments in the future, including qualifying for the 2026 World Cup with the determination and perseverance of the players.”
His Highness concluded his statement by expressing his gratitude and appreciation to all the Bahraini fans who supported the national team throughout its journey in the tournament.
