In the presence and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the children’s triathlon race was held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Sofitel Zallaq Hotel. The event was organized by The Triathlete Factory Academy, with support from the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

The race was attended by His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalid Al Khalifa, President of The Triathlete Factory Academy, His Excellency Mr. Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Mr. Abdullah Abdul-Salam, President of the Bahrain Triathlon Association, and several invited guests and dignitaries.
At the conclusion of the race, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad crowned the top three winners in various age categories: ages 6-7 (25m swim, 800m cycling, 300m run), ages 8-9 (50m swim, 800m cycling, 600m run), ages 10-11 (150m swim, 2km cycling, 1km run), ages 12-13 (200m swim, 4km cycling, 2km run), and ages 14-15 (300m swim, 4km cycling, 2km run).

On this occasion, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his great happiness with the wide participation of children in the triathlon race, emphasizing the importance of such events in encouraging children to adopt sports as a healthy lifestyle.
He added, “The children’s triathlon race is an important step towards raising awareness of the significance of physical activity from a young age. It helps in building a generation of athletes capable of achieving success in the future. We are keen to support these events that foster sportsmanship and challenge among children, instilling in them the values of perseverance and determination.”
His Highness also noted that such sporting events not only focus on physical aspects but also contribute to promoting social values such as cooperation, respect, and teamwork among children. These values help in shaping children’s personalities and enhancing their communication with their peers in a positive competitive environment. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of The Triathlete Factory Academy in organizing this annual event, which brings joy and benefit to the participating children, wishing them continued success and progress.
