Isle of Jura gave Victorious Racing a second stunning victory at this year’s Royal Ascot horse races, winning the Hardwicke Stakes on the concluding day of action at Ascot Racecourse in the UK.
Jockey Callum Shepherd powered Isle of Jura to an incredible win to wrap up an incredible meeting for Victorious Racing, owned by His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
It has been a sensational 2024 for the Isle of Jura earlier victories this year included the Listed Crown Prince’s Cup and King’s Cup at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club in Sakhir.
“He’s an exceptional racehorse and it was an exceptional race from start to finish,” said Scott. “He was the right horse at the right time (in his career).
“It’s amazing. To do this for Shaikh Nasser (Victorious Racing), such a big supporter of mine, is very special.
Isle of Jura’s win added to that of Victorious Racing’s Pledge of Allegiance, who triumphed in the Ascot Stakes earlier in the week for trainer Sir Mark Prescott with jockey Luke Morris in the saddle.
These successes were sweeter as they came in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who attended the Royal Ascot this year. Accompanying him were His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa; First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
During the event, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the Kingdom’s achievements in equestrian sports, attributing the success to the ongoing support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He extended his congratulations to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad following the victory of the Victorious Racing team’s Isle of Jura and Pledge of Allegiance at the Ascot Stakes race.
He commended the team’s fierce competitiveness and also congratulated the winners of various horse-racing rounds, wishing Bahraini participants continued success.
