London: On Tuesday, 18 June, London’s newest luxury landmark, The Peninsula London, set the stage for a dazzling Grand Opening celebration.
The event was graced by Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and a glittering array of stars from the worlds of art, film, and entertainment. Notable attendees included Sophie Turner, Sabrina Elba, Billie Piper, Lady Helen Taylor, and Pixie Geldof. Over 2,500 guests from around the globe experienced a night of unparalleled entertainment and hospitality, highlighted by energetic Chinese Lion Dancing, performances by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, nine live bands, and renowned DJs. The hotel’s courtyard buzzed with gourmet food trucks and showcased priceless vintage cars, adding to the evening’s charm.

The Hon. Sir Michael Kadoorie, Chairman of The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, along with the Kadoorie family, extended a warm welcome to an illustrious guest list. Their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, commemorated the occasion by unveiling a plaque, marking the triumphant conclusion of this nearly 40-year project.
Situated at the prestigious corner of Hyde Park, The Peninsula London opened its doors on 12 September 2023 to rave reviews from both British and international guests. The hotel has quickly become synonymous with luxury and sophistication, a status further cemented when its rooftop restaurant, Brooklands by Claude Bosi, earned two Michelin stars within just four months of opening.






The event highlights included a royal presence that added a regal touch to the evening, underscoring the event’s significance. The star-studded guest list, featuring the who’s who of the entertainment and social elite, made for an unforgettable gathering. Exquisite entertainment ranged from traditional Chinese Lion Dancing to the classical melodies of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, offering a feast for the senses.
