McLaren has ignited global excitement with the unveiling of its Project: Endurance Hypercar during Monterey Car Week. Presented in a striking new Triple Crown-inspired livery, this customer-exclusive Le Mans Hypercar reflects McLaren’s racing legacy and ambition to dominate endurance racing once again.
A Tribute to McLaren’s Triple Crown Heritage
The new livery pays homage to McLaren’s first Triple Crown victory at the 1974 Indianapolis 500. Inspired by the legendary McLaren M16 driven by Johnny Rutherford, the McLaren Orange bodywork features a bold dark blue center stripe, symbolizing the Texas flag.
The cockpit roof proudly displays the iconic lone white star, echoing Rutherford’s helmet, while his race number 3 and McLaren’s Speedy Kiwi and Speedmark logos complete the design. This modern interpretation connects McLaren’s current hypercar innovation to its storied motorsport heritage, showcasing the brand’s commitment to performance and history.
Unveiled to Customers at Monterey Car Week
The Project: Endurance Hypercar was revealed to select McLaren depositors and prospective buyers in Monterey. Hosted by McLaren Group CEO Nick Collins and McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown, the event was co-presented by Justin Bell, third-place finisher at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans in the McLaren F1 GTR.
McLaren will continue to showcase the hypercar at Dallas and Miami events throughout August, giving enthusiasts, collectors, and motorsport fans an exclusive opportunity to experience the car before its official competition debut.
Set for 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship Debut
First revealed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, McLaren’s Hypercar will compete in the 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The brand’s ultimate ambition: reclaim the Triple Crown of Motorsport—winning the Indianapolis 500, the Monaco Grand Prix, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans—this time within a single season.
With advanced engineering, aerodynamics, and hybrid technology, the Project: Endurance Hypercar represents McLaren’s bold step into the next era of endurance racing.
An Elite Ownership Experience
Beyond racing glory, Project: Endurance offers a once-in-a-lifetime ownership program. Buyers will gain behind-the-scenes access to the McLaren WEC campaign, engaging directly with engineers, team personnel, and professional drivers.
Each customer will also enjoy a two-year McLaren track program at some of the world’s most iconic circuits. Supported by a personal pit crew, race engineers, and professional driver coaching, owners can push their hypercar to its full potential—an opportunity reserved for only a select few.
A Future Icon of Motorsport and Luxury
From its heritage-inspired livery to its cutting-edge racing performance, the McLaren Project: Endurance Hypercar is more than a car—it is a collector’s dream, a motorsport icon in the making, and a gateway into McLaren’s exclusive racing world.
With limited availability and global anticipation, McLaren’s latest creation is set to redefine luxury hypercars and endurance racing for a new generation.
