Gucci has announced that Kim Seok-jin, better known as Jin from the popular K-pop group BTS, is its newest global brand ambassador. At 31, Jin is the eldest member of BTS and recently made headlines as an Olympic torchbearer for South Korea at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He is also the first BTS member to complete his mandatory military service, finishing in June.

Gucci’s creative director, Sabato De Sarno, praised Jin for his “warm and kind personality” and unique style, noting that his musical talent and generous spirit make him an ideal fit for the brand. Jin has previously worn Gucci on several occasions and expressed his excitement about being part of the brand, describing it as “iconic” with a blend of heritage and modernity.

Jin joins a growing roster of Korean ambassadors for Gucci, including Hanni, Lee Jung Jae, Park Gyu Young, and Jay Park. This move aligns with Gucci’s efforts to strengthen its ties with South Korea, highlighted by the upcoming “Gucci Cultural Month” initiative launching on October 15 in Seoul. This project will celebrate Korean culture through the work of notable talents like Kimsooja, Chan Wook Park, Eun Me Ahn, and Seong Jin Cho, featuring photography, exhibitions, and performances.
Jin’s appointment follows his role as a global ambassador for Louis Vuitton with BTS prior to his military service. While Jin was away, his bandmates continued as ambassadors for other luxury brands: J-Hope with Louis Vuitton, Suga with Valentino, and Jimin with Dior. After his service, Jin also became an ambassador for Fred Jewelry, part of the LVMH group. This latest partnership with Gucci marks a new chapter in Jin’s influential fashion career.
