His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain attended the coronation ceremony of Sultan Ibrahim ibni Sultan Iskandar as the King of Malaysia, held at Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur. The gracious invitation extended by Sultan Ibrahim brought His Majesty King Hamad to witness this significant event.

Upon arrival at the Balai Rong Seri Hall in Istana Negara, His Majesty King Hamad was warmly welcomed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, with the Bahraini national anthem playing in honor of the distinguished guest.

During the ceremony, His Majesty King Hamad conveyed heartfelt congratulations to Sultan Ibrahim, wishing him health, happiness, and success in his royal responsibilities towards the progress and prosperity of Malaysia and its people. Highlighting the strong historical ties between Bahrain and Malaysia, His Majesty King Hamad expressed commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit.

In response, Sultan Ibrahim expressed deep appreciation for His Majesty King Hamad’s presence at the coronation, underscoring the enduring bonds between their nations. Sultan Ibrahim commended His Majesty King Hamad’s efforts in strengthening Bahraini-Malaysian relations and conveyed his wishes for His Majesty’s continued health and prosperity for the people of Bahrain.



The coronation ceremony commenced with the grand entry of Sultan Ibrahim and his consort into the Balai Rong Seri Hall, where he received the Holy Quran and the state sword, took the oath, and addressed the esteemed guests. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim delivered a welcoming speech, followed by the playing of the Malaysian national anthem and a 21-gun salute in honor of Sultan Ibrahim’s ascension.
The event was attended by members of His Majesty King Hamad’s official delegation, Malaysian regional sultans, dignitaries, and government officials, underscoring the significance of the occasion in fostering goodwill and strengthening diplomatic ties between Bahrain and Malaysia.
