On March 10, U.S. Ambassador Steven C. Bondy hosted a special Ramadan Iftar at the U.S. Embassy in Bahrain, honoring Bahraini alumni of U.S. Embassy-sponsored exchange programs. The event celebrated the contributions of these alumni across various fields, including business, journalism, education, and the arts, while reinforcing the strong partnership between the U.S. and Bahrain.
Ambassador Bondy commended the alumni for their achievements and their role in strengthening U.S.-Bahrain relations. “The U.S.-Bahrain partnership, as exemplified by all of you here tonight, contributes to mutual understanding and strengthens our relationship, making both of our countries safer and more prosperous,” said Ambassador Bondy. He also encouraged Bahraini students to pursue educational opportunities in the United States to continue fostering these important ties.
Reflecting on his fourth Ramadan in Bahrain, Ambassador Bondy expressed that the Iftar was a meaningful opportunity for community-building and shared reflection. “Ramadan is a time of fasting, prayer, and togetherness. This Iftar is one of the highlights of the season for me and the Embassy team as we celebrate our friendship with Bahrain,” he said.
The event underscored the importance of cultural and educational exchanges in strengthening U.S.-Bahrain relations. These programs, which provide valuable opportunities for personal and professional growth, continue to play a crucial role in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation between the two nations.
