The Mercedes driver showcased his skill, holding off Lando Norris and navigating the challenging weather conditions. The race saw an intense battle between Mercedes and McLaren, with pole-sitter George Russell initially leading. However, as drivers switched to intermediate tyres,
Hamilton’s strategic pit stop for slicks before Norris gave him the edge. Despite Max Verstappen’s late charge to P2, Hamilton emerged victorious, marking his first win since the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Norris finished third, completing the podium.

The race also featured strong performances from Oscar Piastri and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, while George Russell retired due to a water system issue. The excitement at Silverstone was palpable as Hamilton celebrated this emotional and record-breaking victory.
Seen crying as he hugged his parents after the race, Lewis acknowledged that this was perhaps the most emotional moment in his racing career.
