His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, signed the executive program of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the French Republic, originally signed in 1980.

The signing ceremony was attended by His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Vice President of the Higher Committee of Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, and Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports; His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority; His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee; Her Excellency Dr. Jalaila bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health; His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education; and His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Asker, CEO of the General Sports Authority.
In his remarks, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa stated, “We are pleased today to witness the signing of the executive program for the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 1980 between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the French Republic, which reflects the depth of the historic and strong ties between our two friendly countries. These relations have been a model of bilateral cooperation based on mutual respect and the shared desire to achieve development and prosperity for our peoples.”
He emphasized that the executive program represents the culmination of a long history of joint efforts in various fields, contributing to the strengthening of cooperation in culture, education, sports, and health, which form a solid foundation for building bridges of understanding and promoting shared values. “Through this executive program, we reaffirm our commitment to developing strategic partnerships that aim to achieve our common goals and implement projects and programs that serve the interests of both countries.”
His Highness added, “We look forward to a new phase of joint work through this program, which will undoubtedly open new horizons for cooperation across various sectors and strengthen the status of Bahraini-French relations as a model of fruitful bilateral cooperation.
