The Miss Universe Bahrain organization, led by the Dubai-based Yugen Group of Companies, organized a series of activities to select the representative for Bahrain in the Miss Universe pageant. The competition took place in Manama and at the exclusive Mirihi Island Resort in the Maldives. This competition brought together a remarkable group of talented and ambitious women who showcased their beauty, intelligence, and determination.
Lujane Yacoub, born to a Bahraini father and an American mother, hails from Hamala. Despite her young age, she has already established herself as a prominent figure in the cosplay community and the theatre scene. Lujane’s passion for the arts and her desire to make a positive impact on society have been the driving forces behind her success.
A recent graduate from Bahrain High School and plans to pursue a degree in arts and acting in the United Kingdom. She is also a member of the National Honors Society, showcasing her academic achievements and her commitment to excellence. Additionally, Lujane has been invited to represent Bahrain at Creative Connections in Germany, furthering cultural exchange and promoting Bahrain’s rich heritage.
During the final question and answer segment, Lujane Yacoub was asked about the biggest misconception about her country and how she plans to correct it. Her response was both eloquent and passionate. Here is her crown-winning response,
“The biggest misconception about Bahrain and the Middle East is that it’s a place of oppression, that is women don’t have rights. And this is far from the truth. Women are taught to thrive, to embrace their strengths, and go for their ambitions, and women are the true pearls of the country. And that would be my first goal as Miss Universe, is to clear up this misconception.”
Beyond her Miss Universe journey, Lujane Yacoub’s accomplishments extend to various domains, showcasing her versatility and dedication to making a difference. Lujane Yacoub has a deep love for cosplay and the joy it brings to people, especially children. She founded “Project Hero” with the aim of visiting special needs schools and hospitals, bringing happiness and customized experiences to each child. Lujane has also been appointed as an ambassador for Smile Train Dubai, the world’s largest cleft lip and palate charity. Her commitment to philanthropy highlights her compassionate nature and her desire to positively impact the lives of others.
