It’s perhaps the most magical time in one’s life… drenched in the all-encompassing, over-powering love for one another, honeymooners generally look for places that, with their beauty and charm, will help them create eternal memories. We’ve put together a list of the most spectacular destinations that will serve as the perfect backdrop for these special moments. Some of them are old favourites, while some are new and exotic- there is something for everyone on our list.
The Enchanting Amalfi Coast
Steeped in history, the Amalfi coast seamlessly combines natural beauty and cultural treasures, with dramatic coastlines, terraced vineyards, and vibrant nightlife, making it a great destination for honeymooners.

Positano, one of its most enchanting towns, is perfect to experience ‘Dolce far niente’ or the sweetness of doing nothing – that is – except soaking in the sun, splashing around the azure waters and eating gourmet food at Michelin-star restaurants.
Amalfi has one of the highest concentrations of stars in Italy and our favourite is La Sponda at the Le Sirenuse in Positano. The restaurant has some of the most romantic views on the coast and adding to the magic is the unfussy yet sophisticated modern food with bold flavours, all the while being serenaded by mandolins and guitars. The old-world charm of the place goes well with young romance.
If you are scouting for the perfect location to stay, look no further than Il San Pietro, the only hotel in Positano with direct access to a private beach. It’s a luxury hotel that has played host to several celebrities and well-heeled travellers – from Elizabeth Taylor to Bill Clinton.

The hotel with its stunning views is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Italian Riviera. One of the most unique features of Il San Pietro di Positano is its lift, which is carved into the cliffside and takes guests down to the hotel’s private beach. The beach is located in a secluded cove, and it is one of the most beautiful shores on the Amalfi Coast.
Montenegro: A Magnificent Balkan Gem

A hidden European gem, Montenegro, is a visually stunning Balkan country. Its mountains are dramatic, the beaches pristine, and the lakes crystal clear. It has a cornucopia of activities for honeymooners, from an amourous picnic in the mountains to exploring quaint towns and ancient fortresses and spending time at secret beaches by the Adriatic Sea.
A must-see is the UNESCO-listed Bay of Kotor, one of the most heavenly bays in the world. It’s scenic beauty, fit for a postcard, will leave you speechless with a bewitching and unforgettable experience.
Located on a private island offering stunning views of the Adriatic, the Aman Sveti Stefan is one of the finest hotels to stay in. It has a variety of luxurious amenities, including a spa, a private beach, and a Michelin-starred restaurant. Need we say more?

Thailand’s Hidden Oasis: Koh Lanta
Classic virgin beaches with towering limestone formations, dotted with rarely visited tropical islands, palm-fringed shores, waterfalls and mysterious caves, still not overrun by tourists, is Koi Lanta; a hidden beauty located on the coast of Southern Thailand.

Our resort recommendation would be the Pimalai Resort & Spa, a luxurious five-star retreat nestled in a lush jungle. This tropical haven offers world-class dining and sustainable excursions, along with beach activities from kayaking, windsurfing, paddle boarding to sailing boats. Their luxury speedboats can take you to the Mu Koh Lanta National Marine Park where you can enjoy crystal clear waters, snorkelling or freediving. With the perfect blend of relaxation, adventure and culture, Koi Lanta is the idyllic paradise for you and your beloved.

Norway – A Nordic Love Affair
There are just two words needed to make the case for Norway’s place on this list – Aurora Borealis. It is also home to some of the most stunning scenery in the world, like the towering mountains of Jotunheimen and the glistening glaciers of Svalbard. From stargazing in the Arctic Circle to a private dinner in a snow igloo, Norway is full of unique and unforgettable experiences for couples.

One of the luxury hotels that caught our eye was the Storfjord which has rooms with both resplendent forest and majestic fjord views. You can wander into their wellness centre in a robe at the edge of the forest, and enjoy the quiet silence, the healing weather and enchanting nature in the outdoor jacuzzi. They also provide guided tours for hiking and kayaking through the fjords, local food safaris to titillate your tastebuds, and impressive helicopter tours among others.

In close proximity is Ålesund, one of Norway’s most charming cities, known for its beautiful architecture, fjords, the Sunnmøre Alps and the open sea. Here you can paddle in a kayak through the city centre as well. The fjord light on Sunnmøre constantly shifts with the changes in the weather and this inspires lovers, artists and photographers from all over the world, which is quite perfect for honeymoon photographs.
Glamping In Petra
We wanted to throw a regional favourite into the mix – Petra, Jordan. A truly magical place, it’s a must-visit for any traveller. Whether you’re fascinated with ancient history, natural beauty, or simply stunning scenery, you’re sure to find something to love in Petra.

However, we wanted to include this destination for glamping lovers. A portmanteau of glamourous and camping, this style of camping has gained popularity over the last several years and we are believers as well.

So if you want to ‘glamp’ your honeymoon a little, we recommend this gem located in the heart of Little Petra Triclinium in Wadi Musa – the Petra Bubble Luxotel. The hotel overlooks a breathtaking view of the Petra Mountains. Nothing beats the experience of gazing at the twinkling stars in the desert sky in the luxury of your own dome pod or your personal hot tub (each suite comes with one). And as you do, enveloped in your bubble of eternal love, you can’t help but feel a sense of wonder and awe at the vastness of the universe above you.
